I wish I would have saved myself some money and bought the middle thickness coat. The hood is weird. Can’t stand it. And the zelcro gets covered in the white fur lining… making it so when you just use the zelcro (like for quick trips) it comes undone before they get to the car. Unless you sit there and pick out all the stick fur
My son has been growing like a weed and this coat has fit him well all through winter. He looks super cute and using the coat with a car seat is really easy. I love that I can just throw this jacket on to take his older brother out to the bus and just Velcro it instead of sitting him down so we can zip it all up. It is also super warm for hockey practices, snow days, and outside trips to the zoo!
This is my first child, and her second winter, however her first winter outside the home. I could never find a good solution to keep her warm enough here in Michigan, but also didn't make her carseat buckles too loose. This coat is perfect! It is warm, but can be left unzipped as well in the seat. I love the material and pattern it's so cute! The hood zips off and magnetic closure. It's also nice it has a zipper down the front as well. It is expensive, but I'm hoping will last 2 winter seasons with the size I chose-it is large on my daughter but she Is VERY small for her age as she was a preemie. I recommend!
Our daughter was almost out of 12 mo. clothing, so we ordered up to 18 mo. for our coat. It was a little big when she started wearing it in October, but now at the beginning of January it fits great with the sleeves rolled. We live in MN and she does not ever seem bothered by the cold, so the coat is doing its job keeping her warm.
Since we have been using it with the sleeves rolled (and probably still will be for a while), the inner liner right at the cuff is fraying slightly as it’s not as durable as the outer layer. Just a few loose strings but it’s something to consider if you are ordering a size up. My daughter also liked to pick at the yellow fuzzy part of her coat in her car seat until I got wise and made sure nothing was visible when I tucked it out of the way of the car seat straps.
Overall it was a great purchase! Quality coat that keeps my daughter warm and safe while in the car.
I am happy with my purchase of the Toastiest coat. It is definitely warm, fits well, and is super cute. I purchased the 18 month size. My son is 32 inches tall and weighs 25 pounds, and it fits perfectly with the sleeves folded over. I'm pretty sure it will still fit him next winter as well. Minus one star for the collar, which just kind of "ends" and looks unfinished without the hood attached. Overall, this coat is a great solution to a major inconvenience in the winter.
