I love this car seat blanket! It is so warm and soft. My granddaughter enjoys wearing it on cold mornings in the car. Definitely very happy with this purchase!
But this is our 3rd winter with one of these coats, and they're a lifesaver. Slight learning curve when you first get one, but not having to take the coat on and off in the cold is worth it. It's also piece of mind that it won't fall off when driving or if in an accident (kiddo will be warm when waiting for first responders). We live in Chicago and the Toast is warm enough for quick errands and the Toasty is nicer for deep winter. We do have a larger parka coat if we spend more time outdoors.
It's a nice coat, and I like the idea of not having to take it off every time he gets in the car and then rushing to put it on so he doesn't get cold getting out of the car but it's kind of a pain in the butt. I don't know if I'm just doing it wrong but I've watched the videos and it seems like the neck of the coat is just in my kiddos face after I get him buckled in and try to put the coat back over him. It's also just a struggle getting i him buckled and unbuckled with it on that it feels a little easier to just do a normal coat (especially for how expensive these coats are).
Hi Michelle, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It sounds like you might be trying to rezip the coat over the harness once your child is in the car seat. That is an extra unnecessary step that will slow you down and as you noted put the collar in your little ones face. If you need extra warmth you can lay the front panel over the harness without rezipping or if you do not need extra warmth you can roll the panel to the side so its out of the way. I purchased two for different size children and both are extremely big. It cost half the size of the coat to return it, not worth it in my opinion.
Hi Tiffany, thank you for your feedback. Out coats run large with extra length in the sleeves for longer wear without sizing up which adds bulk behind their back in the car seat. It sounds like you may have sized up which we dont recommend. I ordered a green toastier coat for my 1 year old. Now when I did receive it that there was a tear in the jacket. But customer service made it simple in easy to file a claim to receive another one which was great. I had 1 already for my son but it became to small. I love these coats though they make it easy to just buckle your child without removing the coat. As well it gives me the peace of mind knowing he is sitting safely in his car seat. Definitely would recommend and be riding another once this one get too small again.
I got a size 3-6 months when my baby was only 2 months and it just fit right but the arms and legs are too long. By the time my baby is 4 months we can’t use it already.. we probably used it 4 times from when I bought it. Every other bunting i got fit her with room to spare for layering, but this infant snowsuit fits extra snug. I think it needs to specify that you need to size up from your baby’s regular clothing size or it just needs to be bigger overall, especially the crotch area.
I love the idea of this concept, probably better on toddler who can sit straight, but on infants not comfortable, my baby is under 6m and kept sliding down before I buckle him up. I ll return this and try next year winter with just a coat, not an onesie
This product is great. I was thinking about a coat for my grandson that he could wear in his car seat, and I was told about the Buckle Me Coats. It works great and keeps him warm.
The seller responded to my first review with what they know is a lie! I sent them a photo of the coat showing that there is no iron-on label (there was a sticker but it was easily removable). They even agreed to let me return the coat but when I asked them to send me a shipping label the said I was threatening them (for saying that what they are doing is fraudulent, which it is) and stopped responding. I have had to contest the charge on my credit card instead of them processing a simple return. The photo provided shows where they claim the iron on label was.
Customers coat had an iron-on nametag on the product label and as such the coat was not eligible for return and was returned to sender per our return policy.

I was worried about how to keep my baby warm during the cold months in Ohio. I personally can warm up my car first but my sister cannot. I stumbled upon these coats and went back and forth. I bought a poncho and two other coats before I caved. I feel so much better that she is warm and safe in her car seat. I rarely write reviews, but this company offers 20% off for a review so if that tells you anything, I’ll be buying another one for next year-I wanted the discount.
I have ordered two of these coats for my daughter over the years and have now ordered one for my infant. It's so nice to know they're warm and safe!
We have used Buckle Me Baby coats for 5 years now, but with our daughter we decided to try the new “toastiest” version. We love how warm it is but it is very complicated with all the Velcro and magnets and the warm neck piece digs into her neck a lot. The back Velcro pulls her hair. Shes one, and honestly I wish we would have gotten the regular one for her but it’s inconvenient to have to send back and wait for a new one as long as we would have to. I would recommend up to toasty. Still a great coat for the car seat!
The only reason to buy this coat is because you need to buckle in your child while it's freezing outside and you don't want them and yourself to freeze while you fuss with a jacket coming off and on. This jacket does it PERFECTLY as advertised. The warmth of the jacket seems great and putting the child in the seat with the jacket on was not difficult.
I took off one star only because when you're not using it in relationship to the car seat, it is a bit more of a hassle to use. To be fair, I have only just received it so maybe in time I will forget, but on first impression all the velcro and zippers and stuff take just a bit more effort than a normal jacket. However, once secured it was fine.
Overall, though, I would highly recommend this jacket for its purpose.
Shipping was super fast and the snowsuit feels like quality! I love the warm cuffs on the neck and sleeves. I got moonwalker so it can be gender nautral for future kids but it can pass as purple with certain lighting.
I can't find another jacket on the market like this. It's so great that I can slap this jacket on my child and walk outside in the cold and know I don't need to get him out and in again in the car seat. Such a great thinking product! Great idea, better quality, and best customer service.
I had the lightest version which was nice for all year, but with colder days coming I ordered this version and its better than expected. Definitely thick but not too heavy, well-made and baby loves it!
Magnet is flimsy and doesn't stay on our cars for child.
This is my granddaughters 2nd coat. She grew out of the first. It's so convenient to use and keeps her warm. Great buy@
Warm enough for Chicago winters in and out of the car (we use a different coat if we're out for a long time). Totally worth it to not have to take it on and off when running errands or going to school! This is our 3rd winter with the same model.
